Introduction
Introduction
DanceWizard is software for managing and playing choreographed dances (round dances). With it you can maintain a collection of dances along with their cue cards, cue sheets, music and voice cue files, and videos. If you have timed the cues for a dance then DanceWizard can track and highlight the cues while the music is playing (similar to Karaoke).
Each dance can have a variety of information including:
- Dance name
- Choreographer
- Release date of the choreography
- Name of the Song and the Artist that recorded it
- Rhythm and Phase of the dance
- Playback Speed and Volume
- List of Plus and Notable figures
- Various flags including
- Roundalab classic
- Roundalab golden classic
- ICBDA Hall of Fame
While a dance is playing you can flag one or more locations within the dance that need fixing (perhaps a misspelled or mistimed cue). At a later time you can go back to those locations to review the issues that need fixing.
Sections of a dance can be bookmarked, and the bookmarks can be used to start playback at specific points in the music.
If you have an existing DanceMaster database then DanceWizard can use that for its database while maintaining compatibility with DanceMaster.
You can use a remote control to operate the main functions of the dance player (including starting playback at bookmarked locations).
You can create, edit, save, load, print, and export (.csv, .html, .rtf, and .txt formats) playlists of dances. Entries in a playlist can be flagged as a dance teach or review (and will show as such when printed).
You can export and import dance modules which contain the music, cue card, cue sheet and any settings (such as play speed and volume) for a dance. Modules can optionally include any videos associated with the dance.
Venues can be used to record locations, clubs, or events where you are cueing or teaching, and can used to record history of dances played at these venues.
